What happens if I can’t make it on time for the yacht departure on Saturday?
In case you miss the departure time, you need to make your way out to the yachts yourself. We do not provide any transfers out to the yachts once they have set sail.
Can I join the Sail Experience for less than a week?
No, it’s not possible to book a cabin or a yacht for less than 7 days. You can join later and/or leave earlier but you would still be required to cover the price of a full week. Please keep in mind that you will need to cover the transportation costs to and from the yacht yourself.
Is there a luggage weight limit?
No, but remember that storage space on the yachts is limited so we recommend taking duffle bag type of luggage.
Can I book flights through Sail Experience?
No, this service isn’t provided.
Can I buy Ultra Europe tickets through Sail Experience?
Yes, for more information contact us directly.
Do I have to follow the Sail Experience route?
We tend to keep all the boats together on the route but slight detours are possible in agreement with your skipper.
Do you have any age restrictions?
Our guests need to be 18 or above to book.
What is the average age on the Sail Experience Yacht Week?
All age groups are welcome, but a rough average tends to be between 20 and 35 years of age.
How many yachts will there be in the flotilla?
This depends on how many bookings we get, therefore we cannot guarantee a specific number of yachts during a certain week. In some week we have only few yachts and in some more than 30 yachts.
How much experience do you have?
We’ve been organising sailing events since 1997. In the past, it used to be competitive regattas with a party and fashion show on land. We realized that people want to combine swimming, sun, parties, sailing and they want to enjoy the beauty of the islands. In 2009 we started organising Yacht weeks.
How often do you organize private parties?
Our private parties are organized in secluded bays 2-3 times throughout the week during daytime. It depends on the week and on the weather conditions at sea.
Can I join a party even though I won’t be sailing with the Sail Experience flotilla?
Only people that have booked with Sail Experience can join the parties.
Can you give me an estimated cost for the week?
The cost for the week depends on the yacht you choose. All available yachts with prices and a guide with additional costsare available on our website. You will have to pay for flights, transfers (that are not included in the price), food and drinks off and on board, island tours yourself. As an example you will spend a similar amount daily as you would on any other holiday. But then you can make it cheaper if you choose to eat all your meals on the yacht.
For cabin bookers this is slightly different as the Skipper and Hostess are not optional.
It will be my first time on a yacht – I have never sailed before.
Most of our guests were first time sailors and loved it! Sailing is an amazing experience. We only sail for a few hours each day, so you have the option to relax and party on the boat or check out the shore stop location every day.
It is up to you if you’d like to relax on the boat, learn how to sail, or explore and party on the islands.
Who will cook and clean the yacht?
You will be required to prepare your own food and clean up after yourself. Don’t worry – you are not alone on the yacht and everyone may choose to rotate duties. Keep in mind that the skipper is also a part of the crew. Don’t forget to prepare a meal for him/her as well!
How do cabins on a yacht look like?
Each yacht has an indoor and outdoor common area (saloon). They are compact but comfortable, although they are not especially spacious inside. There is a full kitchen and dining area on each yacht, as well as refrigeration, electricity, speakers, and other amenities.
The cabin rooms are shared. Most yacht cabins have a double bed which will hold two people. Others have bunk beds. The cabins have small cupboards and closets for clothes. There are bathrooms and showers on all yachts.
Please keep in mind that sailing yachts are not luxury hotels. If you have ever traveled in an camping van, it is a similar experience…just on the water!
How much time will we spend on a yacht?
We sail for between 2-4 hours every day. The islands are relatively close together and you will never be sailing in the open sea out of sight of land.
When we are not sailing, what you do is up to you! You can stay on the yacht or explore the islands. All of the yachts will travel together, which gives plenty of opportunities for combined social activities and regattas.
When I travel in car I usually get sick. What if it happens on yacht?
Sea sickness is something that can be managed. Skippers carry nausea/seasick prevention tablets. If you are feeling unwell, let the skipper know and he/she will look after you.
Please note that avoiding acidic foods and drinks and not missing sleep can help prevent seasickness. If you know that you are prone to seasickness, you can prepare for your trip by checking out this website.
Are there ATM’s anywhere? Where can we take out money while at sea?
You will find ATM’s in every town/place we go, except uninhabited bays.
Is there a supermarket close to the starting marina?
We recommend that you stock your boat with food and drinks on the mainland as the shops on the islands are pricier.
Is there a place in the marina where I can store my luggage?
Marina Kaštela – There is a large supermarket in walking distance from the marina. Make your purchases after the check in with the charter company.
What outlets or voltage will be available on the yacht?

Everyone who books a yacht or a cabin needs to pay a deposit. You can choose to pay the deposit either by credit card or in cash. The deposit is a kind of insurance that you pay to the charter company during check-in. It is used as security against any damages caused to the yacht during the week. If there is no damage done at check-out of the yacht by the end of the week you will be refunded the entire amount. The full price of the security deposit can be divided between everyone on board.
